Today’s addition was super simple to add. I took one celery stalk and chopped it up really fine. I tried giving the dogs one slice of the celery while I was preparing their food, but it ended up on the floor. I am not really surprised, I don’t like celery either. But then I remembered a little trick I used when the kids were little. I just chopped it up a little bit more than normal and added it to the food anyway. Shhhh – don’t tell the kids. That’s how I would sneak onions and such into my cooking – you still get the flavor, but they can’t pick it out. Ha!
Benefits of celery: Celery is high in fiber, low in cholesterol, and a great source of fiber, vitamins A, C, K, folate, potassium, and manganese. It might even freshen up your dog’s breath. As with anything new you add to your dogs food, start with small amounts because it can cause your dog to be gassy until they get used to it.
Are you having any luck adding new foods to your dog’s diet? Tell how things are going. I would love to hear about it.
