Today I added some chopped Kale to the dog’s kibble. They ate it right up. I was a little bit surprised, but pleasantly.
Kale is a cruciferous veggies that is packed full of antioxidant vitamins and phytonutrients. I fed my guys about a 1 1/2 tablespoons of it raw, but I would recommend lightly steaming it. This is one of those vegetables that you want to feed in moderation as studies are showing that raw can interfere with thyroid function and if it is not grown organically they are seeing build up of thallium (which is bad). I, personally, don’t like the taste of kale, so I won’t be feeding it to my guys very often.
Have you tried feeding your dog kale? Does your dog like it?
